Arte Popular

Aregua, Paraguay

Starting in 2004 by Joe Giménez and her husband Gustavo Díaz, El Cántaro is a local organization that advocates for, and empowers, over 28 artisan families throughout Paraguay. Working closely with indigenous communities and traditional artisans, El Cántaro works with the community to refine quality control and fulfillment of their popular works.

El Cántaro works directly with the artisans, providing fair pay for their labor and knowledge. A large portion of the proceeds go to the funding of a local art school which supports the education of nearly 300 children.
