A Tale of Two Artisan Cities

Joining Maguy Servian of Warany and her husband Diego, Rocío and Stephen took a road trip out to the small town of Carapegua, Paraguay. After a few hours of drivings and a few more hours of searching, we were welcomed into the home of a talented textile artisan. She invited us into her workshop and had her son show us the family owned loom.

Later in the week, Rocío and Stephen explored the revitalized neighborhood of San Jeranimo, in downtown Asuncion, Paraguay. A recent project of the city, the community of San Jeranimo worked together to develop their barrio. They are now a local attraction and host a variety of festivals and parades throughout the year.
